the gold and silver belong to God (Haggai 2:8), and his streets are pure gold.
His riches are beyond man’s comprehension. He is not a poor man nor does he
think like a poor man. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my
ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts” (Isaiah 55:9).
Believers are to be imitators of God (Ephesians 5:1), which involves thinking
like the righteous rich rather than the poor. Understanding how the rich think
will help believers renew their mind so they think like God. This discussion
has its roots in Psalm 112, which addresses the righteous rich. They reverence
the Lord and delight in his commandments and are blessed and highly favored.
